UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT:
The Royal Hotel, an elegant Grade II listed building with it’s unique gold dome, has been a place of welcome to travellers since the early part nineteenth century. Situated in the heart of the thriving town of Hexham, the hotel dominates the street of Priestpopple.
Built in 1820, the original coaching house was known as the ‘New’ or ‘Low Grey Bull’, eventually to become ‘The Royal Hotel’ in around 1870.
The new owner which took over recently is trying to return the hotel to its former glory. With the re-launch of Bar Havana which is a cocktail bar at the rear of the building. Including an exclusive Thai and Indian restaurant called the Royal Orchid.
